This is the coolest Direct Mailer

April 14, 2009

triops21

The mailer was sent to media buyers across South Africa, when they [the ad space buying people] received the ‘Unit’ the Triops eggs were tiny, miniscule dots in the test tubes, but in one short week they grew into prehistoric-looking creatures almost the length of your thumb! Included in the pack was an interactive CD with a program to track their Triops’ growth and find out the facts about them, as well as the National Geographic Kids rate card and advertising details.

Aww! This rabbit house is so adorable! I’d get one if I have a garden or lawn.

I love…

April 3, 2009

I love Helena’s blog. She’s so cheery and dreamy, she makes me smile. I saw her list of “Random things that I find pleasure in” and I thought I’d write one myself. Here goes!

1. Bébé’s foot rubs. It amazes me how he knows the best spots!
2. Cleaning up my room. I love the place where I sleep smelling clean.
3. A smoke after meal. One of the patients I saw in Grey’s Anatomy lost his fingers from smoking. I really need to quit.
4. Friday nights. Not out clubbing but chillin’ at home with a good movie. I’ve changed.
5. Hydrogen classes. It’s over but I still can’t get over it.
6. Hydrogen friends. Bunch of weird awesome people.
7. Hydrogen trainers. I learnt the true meaning of “willingness” and “passion” through them.
8. Traveling. I like to be in places I’ve never been before. I like the thrill of adventure and discovery.
9. Bébé’s face when he wakes up. So cute.
10. The little peck on the cheek from Bébé. So sweet.
11. Squuezing Crissy to my chest. She’ll make a little cat squeak.
12. Sharing stupid jokes with Bébé. We laugh so hard.
13. Lazing on the bed watching tv series. I can finish an entire season in 2 days.
14. Reading books. It’s where I mental-masturbate with my imagination.
15. A copy well written.
16. Ideas approved and delivered.
17. Sneakers. I’m currently wearing a classic Converse everyday. Used to be Adidas, but it’s torn. I’m not a heels person.
18. A hot bath with lavender bubbles from L’Occitane but my tub is broken. :-(
19. Early mornings when I don’t have to rush to work. Have to practice getting up earlier.
20. Honda Civic Hybrid. Less fuel consumption and eco-friendly.
21. Short fingernails. Don’t trap dirt and easy to type.
22. A trip back to hometown. Mommy & Daddy spoil me at home.
23. GAP and UNIQLO sweaters.
24. The smell of freshly-baked bread and pastries.
25. The after-rain smell.
26. The smell of fresh laundry.
27. Streams of rain on the window pane.
28. Watching the dynamics of water droplets running down anything.
29. Going to the movies with a box of caramel popcorn.
30. Writing my journal (I need a good classic journal – birthday present?)
31. Anything Apple. It’s so cool.
32. Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack. Really nice songs. Eg. Nobody Knows – Dido and How to Save a Life – The Fray.
33. IKEA lamps.
34. Hanging out in the bookstore. I can just sit there for hours and read.
35. Paulo Coelho, Aldous Huxley and Anne Rice books.
36. Taking snapshots with my CANON.
37. Island hopping.
38. Psychedelic jungle parties.
39. Cool breeze on my face as I ride a motorbike without a helmet.
40. The LSD experience.

Here comes the food…

41. Chili Con Carne hot jacket potato with lots of Tabasco sauce.
42. Home-cooked food.
43. Mommy’s Kari Kapitan with rice.
44. Thick tomyam with santan (not the Mamak one).
45. Thick tomato pasta. Especially Auntie Irene’s. The best I’ve tasted, so far. She peels the tomato skin!
46. SS2 hand-peeled Pan Mee. The clear soup one is good but the dry tomyam sauce thingy is great!
47. Beef rendang at Malay weddings.
48. Bébé’s corned-beef fried rice.
49. Medium-well steak.
50. Sweet yellow-orange mangoes.
51. Beef teppanyaki and self-grilled ox tongue.
52. Chinese dessert. Tong shui especially white fungus with gingko nut.
53. Gelato.
54. Indian vegetarian food. *hint Saras…??? Hehehe.
55. Cointreau chocs from Belgium.
56. Double-shot Bailey’s on the rocks.
57. Miso soup. Seaweed soup. Mushroom soup. Miso soup, again.
58. Mentos Grape.
59. Kenny Rogers.
60. Self-cooked pork chop with mashed potato and steamed veg.

Dream Home

April 1, 2009

I love minimalistic architecture. My dream home won’t be too colourful. Black and white with a tinge of red would be ideal. And lots of glasses too. I don’t want a big home. A one room apartment, will do. Very clean floors and walls. And a proper kitchen. Most important is the bathroom. I love shiny, modern bathrooms. Here’s an example of how my dream home would look like.

My dream home will only be right when I share it with Bébé.

What is your dream home?
